Caribbean futurism—freedom, movement, and the spark of the unknown.
Born from my travels to Beirut, Lebanon, and a love that changed me, this record weaves my Dominican and Puerto Rican roots with global R&B textures, opening the door to Caribbean Futurism — a sound and feeling that didn’t exist until now.
My life has been a journey of finding a home within myself. I grew up in New York City, homeless and without a stable family, but I was always called a "songbird." Even as a child, my first travels to Lima, Peru, ignited in me the powerful realization that a world existed beyond the torment of my upbringing. This gave me a deep, unshakeable desire for a different future. I grew into a sovereign woman in college, fantasizing about a life of freedom. As soon as I graduated university, I sold everything I owned and traveled the world, visiting 32 countries and rewriting my story with every passport stamp.
The first place I went after graduating was Beirut, Lebanon. It was there that my soul finally felt at home, a place of peace that allowed me to be truly free of the shackles and chains of my past. In that beautiful city, with no one knowing who I was or where I came from, I was a blank canvas. It was there that I met someone who unexpectedly and completely healed my heart and made me fall in love. It was a spontaneous adventure I could have never dreamed of—a joyful testament to what happens when you finally let your guard down and step into your womanhood.
This new journey of self-discovery and love birthed a new artistic evolution in me. "Sense of Desire" captures that exact feeling of fantasy and desire, a moment of crossing the threshold into a life of boundless possibility. The song is sexy, sultry, and fun, but it also embodies the profound freedom I felt to express myself and explore the unknown. I have been ignited by a flame that has cultivated my will for forward movement, and through this song, Caribbean Futurism is born.
The sonic landscape of "Sense of Desire" fuses the pulsing rhythms of my Caribbean roots with haunting Arabic scales, reflecting a life lived boldly and internationally. The song's intro, "I know that things will change, it'll never be the same," is a tribute to my newfound knowledge that change is the one consistent thing in life. This song is my gift to the world, a lighthearted and joyful offering designed to inspire others to redefine themselves, choose sovereignty, and find that feeling of pure, divine love within themselves and with others.
"Sense of Desire" is a celebration of freedom, a dance between longing and awakening, and a radiant step into who I was always meant to be. I am ready to share it with the world.
